O’Connor Chiropractor : Dr Stacey Leong

Dr. Stacey Leong, O’Connor Chiropractor
Since graduating from my chiropractic course I practised in Perth until mid-2012. I have been practising in Canberra since then and I am excited to be living in this beautiful and friendly city.
I am a graduate of
Murdoch University in Western Australia and I have a Bachelor of Science in Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Chiropractic with First Class Merit Honours. I attained Dux of my graduating year, and I was also awarded the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (WA) Ltd Prize for Academic Excellence and the Nexus Wealth Prize in Professional Practice Management. In addition, I received the Vice Chancellor’s Commendation for Academic Excellence at Murdoch University from 2004 through to 2007.
I am interested in family wellness and I support a natural approach to healthcare. I see patients from all age groups, from babies through to the elderly, as well as pregnant women. I encourage patients to have a proactive role, and to consider a conservative and drug-free approach to their healthcare where possible.
The positive result I personally experienced from chiropractic care as a young child has made a difference to my whole life. As a teenager I did years of intensive ballet training. Chiropractic was a very important aspect of my health and fitness regime making it possible to be at my best. It made such a positive difference that I decided to change my career path to become a chiropractor as I also wanted to help other people achieve and maintain optimal health and wellbeing.
I use a variety of chiropractic techniques which may be applied with my hands or with the use of an instrument or specialised table. I am able to perform gentle methods which suit many patients. I am committed to professional development by attending courses and seminars on a regular basis. In fact, one of the reasons why I moved to Canberra was because I will have more opportunities for learning.
I still have a keen interest in dance, particularly ballet and ballroom. Prior to relocating to Canberra, I taught ballet part-time. I also enjoy Pilates as I find the strengthening, stretching and relaxation aspects very beneficial for my health.
